
Visitation will be at Indiana Funeral Care, Harry W. Moore Chapel, 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46250 from 10 to 12 Saturday, November 1, 2014, followed by the celebration of her life at noon
Evelyn Bruns, 97, was taken to heaven by Jesus (absent from the body, present with the Lord) on October 21, 2014. She was born in Marion, OH on August 19, 1917, to George Albert Little and Sylvia Winters Little.
She graduated from Shortridge High School and Butler University in Indianapolis, IN, beginning her passion for teaching little ones in the public schools on the required certificate. It was in 1966 that she earned her Bachelor’s degree from Butler. She took the important child rearing season off, but invested many valuable years in the kindergartners / first graders of IPS and Carmel Clay Schools. After retirement from education in 1977, she began the new career of Bible teacher, enjoying many rich and profitable years in Bible Study Fellowship and Creative Living.
Evelyn met her husband, Howard, while serving as a cadet in the USO at her church, Roberts Park United Methodist. They wrote letters while he served overseas in the army, and were married Dec. 17, 1944, when he returned. Howard and Evelyn shared 57 years of marriage, two children, Nancy Lawler (Bill), and Paul Bruns (Bonnie), five grandchildren, William Lawler (Samantha), Jonathan Lawler (Tara), Jason Bruns, Joel Bruns, Jordan Bruns three great grandchilden (Makenna Lawler and Anna Lawler, Samuel Lawler (in heaven)). Her brother, G. Wilbur Little, is with the Lord, but his wife, Betty, and children Stephen, Bruce, and Diane who are as close as a part of the nuclear family.
Visitation will be at Indiana Funeral Care, Harry W. Moore Chapel, 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46250 from 10 to 12 Saturday, November 1, 2014, followed by the celebration of her life at noon with Pastor Don Bartemus presiding. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Adoption Fund for members of Sharon Woods Baptist Church, 5959 Sharon Woods Boulevard, Columbus, OH 43229; Child Evangelism Fellowship; or College Park Church Building Fund.

I want to extend my condolence to you. Mother are special. I did not know her nor your sister from College Park Church, but thankful our paths crossed a few years ago at Brookside. My the Lord bless you with his peace and comfort.
